We’re excited to share some big news at VEI Contracting — we’ve officially expanded into British Columbia with the addition of Steven Reichheld, ATag., EP to our team!
Steve is based Mid Island in BC and brings more than 13 years of experience managing remediation, soil management, and contaminated sites projects across Western Canada. From federal sites and mine reclamation projects to commercial redevelopments and community-based initiatives, Steven has built a reputation for being hands-on, approachable, and deeply committed to solving tough environmental challenges.

What really stands out about Steven is the breadth of experience he brings. He has led large-scale soil remediation and facility operations, worked with Indigenous communities to deliver projects in partnership, and managed everything from petroleum hydrocarbons to leachable metals, drycleaners, and even sites with UXO/munitions debris. Steve also knows his way around both Federal and Provincial regulations – a skillset that helps ensure projects are done right the first time.
Most recently, Steven was Project Manager and Facility Manager at QM Environmental, where he oversaw remediation projects across Vancouver Island and managed a provincially-permitted soil treatment facility. Before that, he worked with various engineering and environmental consulting firms in Victoria – building a career marked by technical excellence and strong client relationships.
But beyond the impressive CV, Steve is just a great guy. He’s collaborative, easy to work with, and passionate about bringing innovative solutions to the table. As he puts it:
